The month of March is child life month! The Give Back Brokerage is happy to have so many community partners that work hard to serve children in need. We wanted to take this month to highlight some of those partnerships.

Defining Child Life Month

The month of March is internationally recognized as child life month. The celebration of child life month came about for hospitals around the world to have the opportunity to celebrate child life specialists and the Child Life profession through education and raising awareness. With the Give Back Brokerage placing such a huge importance on impacting the community through supporting charities and nonprofits, it only makes sense to celebrate the organizations that are improving the lives of children.

 

Murray Children’s Pantry – This food service organization started out with a mission to eliminate childhood hunger during the summer months when many children don’t have access to the meals that they would receive at school. They are so eager to help that they decided to stay open year-round to help eliminate hunger for anyone in Murray in need of nutritious meals!

 

The Sharing PlaceThis incredible Utah non-profit provides grief support groups for children ages 3-18 and their parents. They currently have two locations in Taylorsville and Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

C.A.S.T for Kids – If you’re looking for an organization whose impact reaches across the entire United States, then you’ve found it! C.A.S.T for kids provides phenomenal fishing opportunities for children with special needs – teaching them that there are no limitations to what they can achieve!

 

Girls On The Run – Empowering programs are available for 3rd-8th grade girls that break the mold of gender stereotypes. Their organization regularly holds virtual events that anyone can be a part of.

 

Sarah Bankuti – Sarah Bankuti’s organization is breaking all of the molds for typical books. She is a children’s author on a mission to benefit children with childhood cancer and write books that accurately depict how they look during treatment.

 

Make A Wish Utah – Make A Wish Foundation serves as a light of hope for children fighting critical illnesses when they need it most. They know that every 20-minutes a new child is diagnosed with a critical illness, so they we’re established with the mission is to offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for those kids.

 

La Leche League International This organization sets the foundation for a bonded relationship between mom and baby through international breastfeeding support, advocacy, and education! They exist in more than 89 countries.

 

Youthlinc – Their goal as an organization is to get young adults involved in humanitarian projects. Since Youthlinc’s inception in 1999, over 2,800 Youthlinc Service Year students have contributed more than 225,000 hours of local service throughout Utah. They also have international programs that take young adults abroad to service other countries.

 

EyeCare4Kids – EyeCare4Kids provides professional eye care to low-income, visually-impaired children and underserved families. They have helped over 400,000 families between their Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and New Jersey locations. 

 

Youth Impact – Since 1992, Youth Impact has been serving youth who reside in Ogden’s inner-city neighborhoods. They provide daily transportation from around 25 schools in the area as well as snacks, and a variety of organized daily programs.

 

Autism Solutions Academy – With three locations around Utah, this organization is dedicated to helping children of all abilities through positive and scientifically backed interventions.

 

Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake – There are 7 affordable locations around the state of Utah. Their programs include childcare, sports programs, and volunteer opportunities.

 

Utah Kids foundation – Utah Kids Foundation is for all parents of special needs children to facilitate the exchange of and/or legally sell medical equipment. It is also for the sharing of information in regards to doctors, services, etc.
