Ruth Lavine and her family relocated to Salt Lake City in 2014 and quickly fell in love with Utah’s climate and diverse landscape.  Ruth thrives on puzzles and problem solving, so the opportunity to work with clients with differing circumstances and needs plays to that strength, and she absolutely loves showing houses!  Her desire to educate her clients about home buying and selling processes helps her become their ‘Realtor For Life’.  Ruth’s background in construction management and her extensive local network allow her to be a resource for clients before, during and long after the transaction.  Ruth enjoys camping, four-wheeling and traveling with her family as well as networking, personal development and reading.  Ruth has been married to Rich for twenty-one years, and together they have five uniquely wonderful children, Lucy, Kjiersten, Gavin, Emily and Bradley, and one dog named Xena.

Ruth was introduced to Girls On The Run Utah when her daughter, Kjiersten, joined the after school program. Kjiersten participated for two years and through the help of the coaches and curriculum, gained self esteem and confidence in herself.  Ruth participated with Kjiersten in the Girls On The Run Utah 5K run at the end of Kjiersten’s second season.  Even though Ruth only walked, they had a great day participating with over a thousand young girls and their running buddies.  Ruth, Kjiersten, and Ruth’s younger daughter, Emily, look forward to running (or walking) again this year, with Kjiersten participating as a junior coach.

Girls On The Run Utah inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident, using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  The program envisions a world where every girl knows her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.  Ruth has seen the power of the program help her daughter take steps to follow her dreams, and she is excited to watch Emily blossom as she enters the program.
